Incorporate Your Passions Into Your Business

Incorporate Your Passions into Your BusinessDoes your business reflect your passions?

Your business can quickly become something uninspired and uninteresting if you don’t add something you’re passionate about.

Customers and team members love when entrepreneurs put some of themselves into their work. It makes it more personal, friendly and fun. Plus, being involved in something you love every day makes sure you always love going to work.

I find going out in nature on a photo shoot relaxes me. I have built this passion into my business and incorporate the photography into my blog posts.

Start With Your Passion

The easiest way to incorporate what you love is to build a company based around it. Do you like to teach? Start creating unique tutorials and classes. Love animals? Start a grooming or pet sitting enterprise. Even if you have already started a business, consider adding a product or service that is in line with your passion.

Create Your Own Rules

There are no one set of rules for running a business. If you are a laid back person, don’t go to work wearing a suit just to look more professional. Wear jeans and a nice t-shirt. You will feel more like yourself. Create rules for your business, such as a dress code or way of greeting customers, based on how you are. You will notice the atmosphere of your business becoming more like you and what you love.

Add Your Hobby To Work

You likely have a hobby that you love just as much as your business. Think about any way you can bring your hobby into the business. Maybe you love playing golf. Schedule a business meeting at a golf course and talk while you play. It might be difficult at first, but with a little work you can add your hobby to your business, at least partially.

Redefine Success

Are you always stressing out over sales figures? This could cause you to lose focus on making sales. You started your business for a reason. It wasn’t just to make money; though that is likely part of your reason. Take a moment to redefine what success means to you. Is it being able to spend more time with family? Making customers lives easier? Providing jobs to locals? Make your version of success a priority and the business will be more successful as a result. Plus, you?ll love the job more.

Add Personality Everywhere

It’s your business, so ensure your mark is everywhere. Don’t create a dry, boring blog. Write it like you would speak. Does your company tagline match your personality? If not, change it to reflect you. Try to hire team members with similar personalities that share your passion. You can even make sure you use your favorite colors to packaging products or create logos.

Partner With Other Businesses

Partnering with other businesses is a good way to add more of what you love without drastically changing your own business. Maybe you run an event planning business, but love music. Partner with live bands and DJs. No matter what you do, there are businesses to compliment both you and your interests.
